"Slumdog no millionaire is a series inspired by the lives of Lagosians living in the slum. What drew my attention to these desolate areas is the fact that they are located right next to the most developed areas in Lagos state.
They are completely abandoned while the city keeps moving forward. Before I came up with the name, I had a chat with some locals, describing their situation as hard and unpleasant. “People hardly make it out of here”.
They spoke about how they had no faith in the government, and how much fending for their family was a legitimate struggle daily.
Slumdog no millionaire is about the forgotten, the ones who are struggling, yet
they find a way to go through with their everyday lives, never letting it bring them down."
