Haiku Stairs • Hawaii
Let's start this off by stating that this is one of the "Forbidden hikes" of the world!
Why you may ask? Well because it poses several threats and is actually illegal and not sanctioned for hikes by the state, although access and conditions change often.
Even with all this, some thrill seekers have attempted to hike up Haiku Stairs and have shared their experiences.
Also known as The Stairway To Heaven or Ha'iku Ladder, it is a trail on the island of O'ahu, Hawaii for which the stairway was not constructed for hiking purposes.
It was actually constructed during World War II, in order to transmit radio signals to the navy ships and so that the military could access the radio station antennae.
Over the years, parts of the stairs have been destroyed, but some thrill seekers still attempt to climb it! Can you believe some (illegal) swings have been constructed by the stairs?! Would you dare?
According to rebellious hikers and thrill seekers, the hike up Haiku Stairs Hawaii, is a once in a lifetime, memorable experience with amazing views and breathtaking energy!
Why not hike vicariously through these wonderful & breathtaking pictures! (It's safer) :)
